SCOPHxSCOMH SUMMER SCHOOL 2025 (SASS25) IS HERE!!!

Dear Partners, 


I hope this email finds you well and in good health! I am formally extending this opportunity for you to share with your members.


We are thrilled to announce that -Kenya is hosting the 5TH SCOPH AFRICA SUMMER SCHOOL 2025 between the 21st to 24th September, 2025. The event will take place at the Jumuia Conference and Beach Resort in Mombasa, Kenya.


During the ’s days, the members selected as participants will be able to learn and gain skills that will ensure them to be great facilitators. By participating in this IFMSA Sub-regional Training you will not only enjoy an amazing time in Kenya, but will also build your network and improve your soft skills as the future trainers of IFMSA. Being part of IFMSA trainers you will be able to conduct international sessions and join numerous opportunities in healthcare advocacy. 


Uniquely, we have the Standing Committee on Mental Health (SCOMH) and have prioritized the critical role mental health plays in our well-being. You are hereby invited to our pilot Mental Health workshop in SASS. Our theme:  <b>Climate in Crisis: Protecting Health and Rights in a Changing World; is a statement of our commitment to climate consciousness, as we focus on impact and sustainability.

It is our great pleasure to introduce you to the Big 6, the Workshops that will take place within . They are as follows:


  1. Mental Health Essentials for Future Healthcare Professionals (MHE)

  2. Training of Public Health Trainers (TPHT)
  3. Environmental Action and Climate Resilience Training for Healthcare (EARTH)
  4. Advocacy to Policy Making (AtoP)
  5. Gender in Public Health Emergencies (GPHE)
  6. Training New Trainers (TNT)

    International Students - EUR 200
    Non-Medical Students - Ksh. 27,000
    Health & Non-Health Professionals Ksh. 30,000

All packages are for 2 nights and 3 days full board accommodation and meals

General Assembly (GA)

Meeting of all members of MSAKE. The official annual general meeting where new officials are voted in, review and creation of strategy is done. Also, a forum for fun, networking and appreciating the national medical student community.
